If you are looking for a Valentine’s Day surprise treat for your sweetheart, then I might have something just for you today.
It’s Valentine’s Day Smoothie! Yay!
Not only does it look cute being all pink, decorated with strawberries, heart-shaped candy and stuff but this smoothie is also super healthy – just the perfect way to show your loved ones that you really care.
1 cup (100 grams) frozen fruit mix (mine contained red currants, black currants, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries)
1 ripe banana, sliced
½ cup (120 ml) plain white yogurt
3 tbsp raw rolled oats (optional; if used, let them soak in ½ cup plain white yogurt mentioned above for at least 3 hours)
4 dates (or other sweetener)
⅓ cup (80 ml) milk
TOP LAYER:
1 cup (100 grams) frozen strawberries
1 ripe banana, sliced
½ cup (120 ml) plain white yogurt
2 tsp chia seeds (optional; if used, let them soak in ½ cup plain white yogurt mentioned above for at least 3 hours)
4 dates (or other sweetener)
⅓ cup (80 ml) milk
4 fresh strawberries and more fruit and candy for garnish
Instructions
Amounts of ingredients described above will fill 2 2-cup (500 ml) glasses/jars. First slice about 4 strawberries thinly, dry slices with paper towel and place them along the inside wall of glasses, pressing them against the glass to adhere.
To make the bottom smoothie layer, place all ingredients in you blender and blend for about 1 minute.
Pour mixture in prepared glasses, filling each glass halfway.
To make top smoothie layer, place all ingredients in you blender and blend for about 1 minute.
Pour mixture in prepared glasses, filling each glass to the top.
