Crochet Snowman

Hello dear friends!

I hope that you are all doing fine.

I am confirming that I am still here, and crocheting… Always!

Actually, I would like to show you my latest creation, a crochet snowman. Ta-dah!

I’ve had this snowman kind of idea in my mind for quite some time, I think I’d even mentioned it in one of my posts here on this blog a couple of years ago, posting a picture of a snowman just being made… Well, that one never got finished, just until now.

Having a little boy now, I thought it could be sweet to make something unique for him this winter.

So, a snowman was born.

And my baby (well, almost 3 years old baby) likes his new toy friend very very much – he just grabs him by the hat and off they go together… 🙂

My plan was to make it rather tall. Using an Aran weight yarn (Red Heart Soft) and a 4.5 mm hook it turned out to be almost 18 inches (45 cm) tall.

In case you wonder about the pattern… I do have it written down on paper, I just need to make slight changes, transfer it to my computer, take step-by-step pictures… and then I will surely share it with you. Once it’s all done I will let you know here on this blog.

And now I am rushing to make 2 more, one the same size, one even bigger. Our living room (which is more like a play room now) just needs them… I think 🙂

Thank you for letting me share!

I am wishing you a lot of peace and joy during this beautiful time of year.

With lots of love,

Petra ♡

Everywhere I Look I See Them!

Does it happen to you these days too?

I mean do you also see them everywhere you look?

OK…, you might not know what I am talking about right now.

Just try to examine the picture above that I took yesterday.

Do you see that odd man right in the middle of the frozen lake?

Because that is a large lake you are looking at.

I zoomed it in in case he was too tiny for you to identify.

Yes, that’s him – a snowman (and I’m trying not to pay attention to the crack in the ice leading from the shore towards the snowman and ending exactly next to him).

I just see them everywhere – the snowmen.

And don’t get me wrong here – I appreciate seeing them so often, because that fills my heart with joy.

In my mind, I always try to picture the happy kids who have build the guys.

When kids build snowmen they have to be happy – and then everything is all right with the whole universe.

So I’m slowly getting used to finding them everywhere – in gardens, in front of parking cars, on top of parking cars and, recently, on top of a restaurant table (the table standing outside the restaurant luckily).

Gaby, Blue Mittens And A Snowman

(Update: To see more of my patterns, please visit my ONLINE SHOP!)

Recently I’ve finished knitting these blue fingerless mittens for my dear nephew.

I asked him to be a model for a little while and wear the mittens for a teeny photo shoot.

He was very kind and professional and without any hesitation he agreed.

So together we went outside and took some nice pictures.

These mittens are made for some serious use.

They can endure a real tree climbing.

And once you are able to climb a tree you are a real winner!

Wow, what a gorgeous pose.

And what gorgeous fog around you.

And of course, how could we not strike a pose next to our beloved snowman?

Thank you Gaby, it was a pleasure to cooperate with you.

You are a precious friend indeed.

(If you’d like to make similar mittens feel free and follow the pattern here.)
