I just can’t get enough of it – playing with GIMP I mean.
It’s great.
Just see for yourselves.
This is the original picture.
I took it in a little Hungarian town called Esztergom.
In case you wondered what that could represent, it is a part of a gorgeous fountain. It looked absolutely stunning.
Nevertheless, the picture obviously needed some adjustments.
So I cropped it to improve the composition, ramped up the contrast, sharpened it a bit, adjusted color balance, blurred the background and added soft glow.
And here we go!
It is dreamy and takes me away to the sweet land of fantasy.
Lovely…
And another one before…
… and after.
Wow, I love this one too.

Love the pics, never heard of GIMP before. Is this better than other software?
I think it’s just great. I highly recommend it! Nevertheless, I’d love to try working with those “shortcuts” in editing (photoshop has them; the color booster, vintage look and the others) but I haven’t found them in GIMP yet. Just today I searched on “Wiki” and found out that there’s this version of GIMP called GimPhoto, so I am going to try and I’ll see. I will surely let you know if it’s positive.
just came across this picture on craftgawker – I especially love it because I am Hungarian!
Thanks, there is a post about my Hungarian Trip on my blog – https://zoomyummy.com/2009/09/28/this-huge-trip-around-hungary/ !
