My Sweet Mary Jane Slippers

Today I have finished my first ever crocheted mary jane slippers.

I was quite pleased with the result because they seemed to be a perfect, cute and lovely alternative to socks (for home use of course; it might be a bit too difficult to fit them into shoes).

And then I showed them to my boyfriend… .

“Do I know the old lady?”, he asked.

“What old lady?”, I asked him back.

“Do I know the old lady you’ve made these for? The old lady in her late 80s?”

Well, to be frank with you, I still like them. I think it’s this girl thing that boys can’t understand. Ever!

So I keep telling my boyfriend they are vintage, he keeps telling me they are horrible. It’s been going on like this for the last few hours.

What do you think dear friends?

Are you on my side?

I love them, I want to have them. Can I place my order for 1 pink pair?
Your boyfriend does not know what is currently in fashion. Slippers like these would cost here in London around £10 to £20.
So please send me one pair.

Thank you, You also made my day.
I am opening new Art&Craft club at my school for girls. We’ll be doing cards, bookmarks pom-poms, jewelery boxes and lots more. So if I make something nice, I will forward it to you.

I think these are completely and utterly adorable. There are some things even relatively enlightened males just can’t seem to relate to . . . hand-made slippers are clearly one of those things!

Oh, they’re gorgeous! You should be very proud of them. I’m definitely inspired to try and make my own now.

I just showed them to my boyfriend to find out what he thought of them and he said ‘They’re cute’. Just as I was thinking I’d found a man with excellent taste, he followed up with ‘They’re for kids, right?’

    Some men are just douches.

Hey! I made a pair of pink slippers following your tutorial, and turns out that my husband was cold once and used them and he loved them! and they were pink! The thing is that he begged me to make him some macho-coloured slippers, and here I am, knittink some gray slippers to give him as present for father’s day, that’s next sunday here in Argentina!
