All I Wanted Was Some Princess Stuff

I am not sure if all you guys are familiar with Kinder Surprise. If not then I’d like to assure you that it is one of the coolest things ever. Because a delicious chocolate egg hiding a lovely surprise inside cannot be called other than cool and awesome, I think.

And on top of all those things, that fact is that this phenomenon has been in my life for more than thirty years, which actually is MY WHOLE LIFE! So as you can imagine, I’m pretty addicted.

Just lately, to my great amazement, I noticed that there’s a new PINK Kinder Surprise available. It’s pink because it is for GIRLS only. ‘So great!’ I thought.

‘What could be inside?’ I wondered. ‘Lovely, lovely princess stuff, for sure!’ I imagined. ‘No more airplanes, trains or cars for me… Yippee!’ My life seemed to have suddenly taken a completely different direction.

So today I went to a store all ready to give this new big thing a test…

I came home, unwrapped the thing.

I opened the chocolate egg and ate one half immediately, because that is what you need to do. It’s a rule.

And then, all excited, I opened the yellow egg.

A puzzle.

‘Okay, I’ll leave this one for later, when the chocolate kicks in’ I decided. ‘I’ll be smarter then.’

Luckily, there was one more egg available for testing.

So I opened that one too… and, of course, I ate one half of the chocolate immediately, because that is what you need to do. It’s a rule.

And look, this seemed a bit scary. Construction seemed to be needed again.

Actually, I kind of remember this thing from my childhood. Which does not seem to have ended, actually.

You can make art with this. All you need is a sharp pen and a little patience.

See?

My art. I signed it in case someone was interested.

Oh, well, here’s the result of my epic testing: Fortunately, I still like surprises and the chocolate still tastes really good. That’s why I’ll still get my Kinder Surprise from time to time… like tomorrow, and on Friday too, I think. But I still expected some princess stuff.

What would you like to find in a girly Kinder Surprise? Do tell!

Ha ha this is so funny. I am sorry you did not find some princess staff. I would definitely like in my kinder nice white gold ring that would be just perfect.

I would have liked a nice fake set of earrings with huge pink plastic stones. I’m currently remembering childhood games of Pretty, Pretty, Princess.

This is so sweet! Reminded me of my mom and how she made us lovely Easter baskets … Unfortunately, the Kinder Surpise is not legal to bring into the USA or I would love to try them! http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/kinder-surprise-eggs-are-illegal-in-the-united-states-a-827741.html I think a little furry creature in the egg would be awesome. I still love my stuffed animals and I’m well over 50! Some girly things never go away! Thanks for bringing back some precious memories.

Hehe, halarious blog, i really enjoyed reading it. And i can sympathise, i love kinder eggs but hate constuction. Imagine my frustration when i give one to my lovely little 4 year old girl in order to get a moment to drink my cuppa, only to spend The next half hour trying to put together tiny bits of plastic.;) we got a spirograph in ours this weekend too, though, and i must admit i enjoyed that, took me right back to my childhood. Perhaps we are around The same age, you and I:)

SO very jealous! I used to get them every year for my birthday, but now they’re not allowed in the US. 😛
