UPDATE: Since so many of you asked, you can now find the pattern for this purse in MY SHOP!
It seems I’ve been on a serious crochet binge recently.
All I think about are stitches, slippers, teddy bears, and purses.
Whee!
I really can’t stop it.
What a life! I know.
A few days ago I found a new crochet stitch.
It’s called the ‘crocodile stitch’.
I fell in love with it… and made a purse using the stitch instantly.
It’s the one in the picture.
The stitch might look a little difficult, but it’s not.
It’s very relaxing actually.
Well, if you know how to make a chain stitch and a double crochet stitch.
You can now find the pattern for this bag in my shop.
I wish you the most wonderful week.
Love,
Petra

So beautiful, Petra!
I love the purse [almost] as much as I love the photographs!
And as for obsessions, I can totally relate to your renewed crochet infatuation as I have been on a bobbin lace-making binge myself. Nothing gives me a sense of satisfaction as strong as I get when I end up with a tangible piece of [decorative] art made out of nothing but a thread [or wire, as of late]. I am afraid we might be suffering from the same [incurable] condition!
Oooh, very nice! I like that stitch!
And I know what you mean, I’ve been crocheting up a storm lately. In fact, while typing this, my arm is resting on a ball of yarn with a crochet needle sticking out of it and my desk is covered in bits and balls of yarn and needles and amigurumis..
Gorgeous purse.
love this purse petra! it’s so perfect for spring time and the color is super crazy fun! nice work! 🙂
can you share the pattern with us? I love it!
If so, I can totally see this as next month’s bag for the Bag of the Month group on Ravelry.
I know I’d love to give it a try.
Thanks for a great link! 🙂 Petra
Hi Sandi! Glad you like it. The links to the pattern are included within the post, but they are not for the whole bag, just for the pattern. I will definitely write a post on how to make a simple bag sometime in the near future. Enjoy! 🙂 Petra
I finally finished the scarf in the crocodile stitch, it was so much fun to make. I want to make a hat next and then would really love to make that purse!
I love that purse and the stitch looks cool! I’m going to make this purse too I think! Maybe in black or turquoise, or both!
Great job!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ll try it as soon as I finish my current project!

Hi, thought you’d like to know that an unscrupulous Facebook site is using one of your photos of this gorgeous bag and not admitting that they haven’t made it themselves … but trying to sell it. Possibly the person has bought the pattern from you and has your permission, but as they’re advertising a little bag I crocheted for my niece last year and are using my photo without my permission, I’m guessing they probably haven’t contacted you. Seems like many of the photos on this site are stolen. I and others have reported them to Facebook, you may wish to do the same. The link for your bag is: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=309271529156077&set=a.305603909522839.70735.288137091269521&type=3&theater
I follow your blog, so I recognized the bag straight away – I’ve got it pinned on Pinterest as something to make one day!!
Hello Fiona!
Thank you so much for taking your time to let me know. I appreciate it!
I will look into that asap!
Thanks again. Petra 🙂
