Honey And Mustard Chicken With Bacon, Mushrooms and Cheese

honey mustard chicken with bacon, mushrooms and cheese recipe

This is definitely one of the best chicken meals I have ever had.

Well, who could say no to a chicken that is marinated in honey and mustard sauce and then baked with luscious layers of bacon, mushrooms and cheddar cheese on top. Not me, that’s for sure!

And being rather quick to prepare, this recipe makes a good choice for weekday dinners as well.

Here’s how to make the magic happen…

We’ll need these ingredients.

1. First, make the marinade by mixing together the mustard, honey and lemon juice.

2. Cover the chicken with the marinade and refrigerate for two hours.

3. When the chicken is marinated, preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C).

4. Use a large pan or skillet to fry the bacon on the stove until mostly cooked (it will cook more when baked in the oven). Remove the bacon onto a separate plate.

5. Using the same pan and what’s left of the bacon, fry the chicken (discarding leftover marinade). Cook a few minutes on each side, but not until cooked through – the chicken will finish cooking in the oven.

6. Place the chicken in a large baking dish.

7. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika.

8. Place the sliced mushrooms in the same pan where the chicken was cooking. Add about 1/2 tsp salt and cook for about 5-7 minutes. Then set aside.

9. Assemble the chicken by topping it with the bacon…

… and lastly with the cheese and parsley.

10. Bake at 350 °F (175 °C) for about 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

I am so glad that you liked the latest post and my crocheted work that I presented there. Thank you for your comments and your very kind words! I appreciate it!

As promised, I have put together a tutorial for you!

It is a step-by-step tutorial (or pattern) for crocheted coasters that I called ‘Joy Joy Coasters’. I chose that name because the coasters are just pure joy to make. 🙂

Hi friends! I hope you are fine.

I am doing great and have stopped by for a while to show you a few things that have been making me very happy recently…

Like, I fell head over heals in love with the crochet pattern shown in the picture above. I think it is addictive.

And I have material to prove that… 🙂

I have made a placemat and some coasters too.

Psst, there’s a pattern for these coming soon!

crochet basket full of yarn

Some really delicious new yarn has filled my basket recently.

Ahhh, how I love new yarn.

This actually leads me to an idea that I need to crochet a few more baskets like this one, just to be able to store more yarn for crocheting… the sweetest vicious circle I know. 🙂

book about healing plants and blue handmade mug

These two precious things have been filling my heart with joy as well – an interesting and beautiful book about herbs and healing plants. Love!

Magical Folk Art & Crafts Fair

bobbin lace making

Art and crafts have always been a great love of mine.

A few days ago, I was very lucky to visit a fair dedicated to the traditional folk art and crafts of my native country – Slovakia.

The whole experience was just magical. That is probably the best word I can use to describe the feelings I had when I was watching a selection of very old crafts being demonstrated by the most skillful craftsmen right there in front of my eyes. They are the crafts that helped my ancestors live better and nicer lives. And the best thing is that those traditions are still alive.

I am very thankful to the kind people who came to demonstrate their skills in front of curious people like me and I am also thankful to the people who want to keep the old traditions alive and organize this great festival. It was an amazing, sentimental and important touch with the wisdom of the past. Just have look…
