You can now use the palms of your hands again to help the corn flakes adhere to the surface of the scoops better. But keep it short, the ice cream gets soft quickly.

It is very important to freeze the ice cream until it is very hard. I recommend leaving the scoops in the freezer overnight, if possible.

Hi Hannah! Yes, they can, but I would make just enough for about 1-2 weeks ahead. There are raw eggs in the coating and I wouldn’t let them in the freezer for too long. I am glad you like the recipe! 🙂 Petra

Made your fried ice cream last night for dessert to cap off our wedding anniversary. I only changed the cereal used for the coating. This recipe is brilliant in its simplicty, its execution, its flavours and its limitless pairings to be served with. As you can see on my blog (http://strangeaddiction.com/?p=1413), I chose a knob of Nutella because that’s what I found in my cupboard, and after a long day at work, it was also the easiest to reach for. 🙂

My husband loves deep fried ice cream and has been bugging me to find a way to make him some for 10 years. (!!) Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Hey… I tried it out… Came out very well… But guess I have to reduce the amount of Coconut next time as I am not very fond of coconut even though I am from Kerala(India) which is a land of Coconuts… 🙂 Apart from that, it was AWESOME! Thank you so much!

I’ve made this before, using cinnamon Life cereal, you don’t have to egg wash and fry it. much easier. Try it, you’ll like it. Thanks for your recipe, this is the first one I’ve found that actually fries it.

Oh – these pictures are awesome. I love fried ice cream. In fact right now looking at the pictures is making me crave this delicacy. I got to make it again this weekend. I’ve not used coconut in my mixture though. I will try adding coconut to my recipe. My favourite topping though is chocolate sauce. I used to have fried ice cream at an Italian restaurant in Santa Clara, California many years ago and just fell in love with it. Have never run across a recipe for it before and will definitely try this one. Have no idea if this recipe is anything like the original fried ice cream I had before though. I know the picture sure looks like what I had. Thanks much.
